Prince William Heads to Saudi Arabia for Official Talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Britain’s Prince William is set to meet Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a three day official visit to the kingdom beginning Monday. The visit is being carried out on behalf of the British government, with the aim of strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations.

This high level engagement follows a visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025 by the UK’s finance minister, a trip that Britain said helped unlock trade and investment agreements valued at 6.4 billion pounds. Prince William’s presence signals continued momentum in the growing relationship between London and Riyadh.

According to Kensington Palace, the Prince of Wales will hold an audience with the crown prince and participate in a series of engagements centered on Saudi Arabia’s economic reforms, cultural development, and environmental initiatives. These discussions are expected to highlight shared priorities in sustainability, innovation, and long term growth.

Prince William is no stranger to the Saudi leader. In March 2018, he and his father, then Prince Charles, hosted Mohammed bin Salman for a dinner at Clarence House in London, while Queen Elizabeth II held a separate luncheon for the crown prince on the same day.

During the current visit, Prince William will also meet young Saudis and learn more about the country’s plans for sustainability and modern urban development. His itinerary includes visits to projects supporting women’s sport, e sports, conservation efforts, and cultural cooperation.

The trip will also take him to AlUla, an ancient oasis city rich in history and heritage. There, he will explore wildlife reserves, engage with local communities, and tour the newly established Prince of Wales House, a UK backed cultural space designed to encourage collaboration in arts, heritage, and creative industries.

At its heart, this visit is about people, progress, and partnership. Beyond formal meetings and agreements, Prince William’s journey reflects a broader effort to build understanding between cultures, invest in future generations, and support initiatives that connect history with modern ambition.
