Israel’s Military Executes Airstrikes on 200 Hamas Targets in Gaza Strip Amid Ongoing Conflict
In a recent situational update, Israel’s military asserts that it has executed strikes on approximately 200 targets affiliated with Hamas within the Gaza Strip. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), ground troops are concurrently conducting operations in Gaza alongside airstrikes. The IDF claims to have targeted terror infrastructure, including a school in Beit Hanoun, where an attack on troops originated. The strike reportedly uncovered tunnel shafts, explosives, and weapons. Additionally, IDF aircraft targeted vehicles carrying missiles and mortar shells, preventing a potential attack against IDF soldiers. The navy also participated in the offensive, striking Hamas terror targets, such as naval forces’ observation posts and terrorist infrastructure at the Gaza harbor, along with precise munitions on military compounds. Despite the IDF’s claims, the casualty figures provided by the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza, stating over 15,000 Palestinians killed and 41,316 injured, have yet to be independently verified. The military campaign was initiated by Israel in response to a surprise Hamas attack on October 7, resulting in a high number of casualties and injuries. Independent verification of the casualty counts remains challenging due to restricted access for journalists during the ongoing conflict.
